Carbolite Gero furnaces and ovens are often used to provide the heat source needed to initiate a chemical reaction, to advance it to completion or to bring about phase changes such as in the sintering of metals and ceramics.
The AAF dedicated ashing furnaces are often used for the ashing of samples as a precursor to elemental analysis.
